Aims of the Module

This module provides an understanding of the key concepts and terminology used in marketing.

After completing this module, you will understand marketing in organisations and the factors influencing consumer and business buying behaviour. You will identify key components of the marketing environment, collect relevant information, outline marketing mix concepts, and apply them effectively.

Assessments Methods 

The module will be assessed by way of a 2-hour examination. 

Onscreen assessments utilising either Multiple Choice Testing or Scenario-driven short and extended answer response tests. The assessment is employer-driven, practitioner-based, relevant, and appropriate for business needs.

Entry requirements 

This course is perfect for those new to junior marketing roles or aspiring to enter the industry and looking for the perfect introduction to marketing.

To study for the Foundation Certificate in Professional and Digital Marketing, you do not need to have any previous experience or knowledge of marketing. If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate you’ve achieved an equivalent qualification.

How can it be used?

As a stand alone certificate to demonstrate your knowledge and expertise to Level 3 in this topic.

As an elective module in your Level 3 CIM Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing. You can take up additional modules to complete the full qualification.

I am a qualified teacher who has been working in digital since 2006. I’ve worked in education, housing, tech, and journalism and have been running my own marketing consultancy since March 2020. I teach qualifications at levels 3, 4, and 6 and assess for several awarding bodies.

I love working with various companies in sectors I’ve sometimes never heard of! It keeps me on my toes and requires me to keep myself up to date with how all the online tools can be used.
