Aims of the course

The CIPR Internal Communications Diploma aims to equip professionals with the essential knowledge and skills to enhance internal communication practices, fostering employee engagement and supporting organisational change. Through a focus on ethical strategies and best practices, participants will learn to create impactful communication plans that resonate within their organisations, driving commitment and positive workplace behaviours.

Assessments Methods 

  • A two-part written assignment:
  • 3,000-word management proposal outlining the topic, evaluating management and measurement, and providing recommendations based on data analysis.
  • 2,000-word supporting review detailing secondary research, methodology, internal communication frameworks, and ethical challenges encountered. 

Entry requirements 

This course for PR professionals, HR practitioners, and those looking to specialise in internal communication and enhance employee engagement strategies.

To study for the this qualifications, you will require either a formal qualifications - CIPR/Marketing/Business degree and 2 years’ relevant full-time employment in public relations.

Michelle Atkins

With over 30 years in PR and communications, including 20 at a senior level, I currently work in Internal Communications. A Fellow of the CIPR, I’ve held senior roles across public sector organisations and consultancies. I support MA students at Newcastle University and serve as Secretary of the CIPR North East committee. Passionate about public and crisis communications, I enjoy helping others grow while continuing to learn. Outside of work, I’m a football fan and enjoy staying active.
