Aims of the course


The CIPR Crisis Communications course aims to equip professionals with the skills to manage communications during crises, protect organisational reputation, engage stakeholders, and use digital media effectively, while addressing ethical considerations and post-crisis recovery.

On completion, candidates will be able to create crisis communication strategies, protect organisational reputation, engage stakeholders, use digital media effectively, and manage post-crisis recovery.

Assessments Methods 

A written assignment  which is an executive report and summary situation analysis. This will consist of:-

3,000-word executive report that demonstrates ability to apply crisis communication principles such as developing a crisis communication plan, analysing real-life crisis scenarios, and providing recommendations.
Supporting 2,000-word statement of reflection which highlights the research methods, including digital tools and techniques for developing the plan.

Entry requirements 

This course is perfect for both generalist professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge of the discipline and for those who are, or aim to become, responsible for communicating the sustainability agenda within their organisation.

To study for the this qualifications, you will require either a formal qualifications - CIPR/Marketing/Business degree and 2 years’ relevant full-time employment in public relations.
