Aims of the Module


This module aims to enhance knowledge and skills for a strategic approach to content planning and the selection of appropriate channels.

Participants will gain insights that help them effectively organize their content strategy and choose the best platforms for engaging their target audience, ultimately maximizing the impact of their initiatives.

Assessments Methods 

The module will be assessed by way of a 2-hour examination. 

Onscreen assessments utilising either Multiple Choice Testing or Scenario-driven short and extended answer response tests. The assessment is employer-driven, practitioner-based, relevant, and appropriate for business needs.

Entry requirements 

For marketing managers and marketers working in operational and supervisory roles, who are looking to progress their strategic and management skills. Equivalent level to an undergraduate degree.

You’ll need to have a minimum of two years’ experience working in the industry at an operational level or a relevant Level 4 qualification to study the Diploma in Professional Marketing.

How can it be used?

As a stand alone certificate to demonstrate your knowledge and expertise to Level 6 in this topic.

As an elective module in your Level 6 CIM Diploma in Professional & Digital Marketing. You can take up additional modules to complete the full qualification.

Jo Dolezal

I am part of the nesma team delivering Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications, including the new Specialist Awards in Social Media Management and Content Strategy. I also run social media and content marketing skill sessions.
Since starting my marketing career in 2001, I’ve worked across various sectors and founded Dolezal Consulting in 2009, helping over 100 clients with strategic marketing projects. In 2021, I joined the NIHR as Senior Social Media Specialist, working on training, campaigns, and strategy. I love sharing best practices and real-world examples, helping students apply what they learn to their own roles.
